Copia de Everyone Told Me Not To Quit Without A Plan. I Did It Anyway.

I tell you this - that there is no roadmap for being in between opportunities - not as a discouragement, but as ENCOURAGEMENT. The encouragement is that there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way, and that the whole process is meant to be a learning curve caused by the disruption that you chose, or was chosen for you.
I have talked about this in the past, but I wanted to talk about it again as I have very much been in between for a hot minute. I’ve been in the space where I don’t quite know what’s next and I certainly don’t know where the next opportunity will come from.
Being in this space requires me to honor what’s going to work for me to stay in a mindspace that will keep me open, versus put me in a downward spiral.
It often looks like taking a walk in the middle of the work day, and sometimes that means I’m fighting myself the entire time about whether I should be doing something more ‘productive’. But I still know the truth - that those walks, and clearing my head is exactly the right next step on my personal roadmap.
I’ve learned a lot about this in between space not just in the past 8 years post corporate, but also in the many years in corporate when I was on the hunt for what was next (which was most of the time). So everything I share with you in this week’s episode is not just hard-learned life lessons, but it’s also been confirmed over and over again in the journey my clients have gone through.
But it’s not your fault if you’re struggling with being in between because this is the piece that nobody prepares you for. In fact, placement services bypass the entire emotional journey and just focus on resume updates, job applications and interviews. No wonder we default to the only roadmap we’ve been told works: Update the resume. Submit. Submit again. Network. Repeat.
While I don’t have a specific roadmap for you I think that’s exactly the point of being in between. I think it’s about becoming the next version of you who can actually hold what’s coming next. Otherwise, what was the point of a shift to a new chapter? It’s not intended to be about just surviving uncertainty. I think the lessons and blessings of the in between can offer you so much more.
So in this week’s episode of The Unlock Lab, I walk through nine things to experiment with while you’re fighting the funk.
Here’s what I can absolutely promise you: It’s going to be okay. Think about all the times things took a left turn and you figured it out anyway. This is a moment in time, not the whole story.
Send this to someone you care about who is in between, and if this lands for you, please like, rate, review, and subscribe wherever you tune in.
Cheers to what’s next,
