Little Known Facts...The Person Behind The Mic

We're in the heart of the summer season and it is my absolute favorite time of year. In honor of what I hope is a season of levity and ease, I thought I would lighten things up a bit with this note.
I tend to share personal stories to help you see something in yourself – but I don’t always share the outer edges of who I am. My hope is that I hear back from you to learn more about you too. Summer is a great time for making deeper connections.
Alright so here it goes, a little more about me that you may not know…
1. I attended School of the Arts highschool in Rochester, New York. I was surrounded by really talented people and constant creativity. I think one of the things I loved the most was hearing people bust out in song in the hallways and it was the most normal thing ever. Can you guess what my creative concentration was?
2. I get giddy happy every time I step onto a plane, especially when traveling internationally. The first place I traveled to (besides Canada) was South Africa at the very end of my MBA program. It was a dream come true for me. I think it’s safe to say that I measure my years by how many places I’ve been able to travel to. My favorite place where I feel really at peace would have to be Tuscany (not a shocker given my name, right?!). My dream is to have an old stone villa on a vineyard – and maybe even host retreats there... And no, buying one of those $1 homes is not in the cards – the renovation costs are killer! Haha
3. Speaking of hosting retreats, I love hosting and entertaining and the good thing so does my husband, Ryan. When I moved to New York in 2008 I wanted to host a cookie party for the holiday season and Ryan thought it was so silly. Years later, he realized it was the best thing ever to have a cookie exchange, with a specialty cocktail, and finger food where we would invite everyone we knew. Not to toot our hosting skills, but that party did become legendary. Haha I have since opted for smaller gatherings.
4. I love watching documentaries, though unfortunately the are used these days as PR tactics. The most recent one I really enjoyed was Prime Minister. Do you know the former Prime Minster of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern by the way? I’d love to have her on my podcast! #GotToAsk Relatedly, my favorite types of books for pleasure reading are memoirs. I love hearing underdog stories and how people overcome incredible obstacles. Know any good ones you would recommend?
5. Per the picture above, this is my rooftop in Brooklyn and I love to garden. A container garden certainly has its challenges which makes the reward feel sweeter. One of my most favorite days of the year is when my husband and I drive over the GW bridge to go to a nursery and load up the car with flowers and plants. I often stare at the sky and my flowers between coaching sessions to reset and recenter.
6. I’m an absolute foodie at heart. Between my lineage AND working for Wegmans Food Markets for nine years, being a foodie was inevitable. The holidays never quite feel the same if I’m not shlepping potatoes in the produce department. My first Instagram picture ever was of French fries. Alas, I love artichokes, french fries (any kind of potato frankly), chicken parmesan, lobster rolls, hazelnut gelato, burrata – the list could really keep going here but these are the major food groups. Oh but let me not forget melted cheese. Anything melted cheese has my vote. By the way, have you seen the movie Nonnas yet? Go do yourself a favor and watch it with tissues in hand.
7. I cannot talk about my favorite things in life if I don’t mention Siena, my puppy (see the right corner of the picture). And yes, she’s named after Siena, Italy – even though she’s a rescue puppy from Puerto Rico. She turns 5 on August 17th and she brings me more joy than I can even describe. She has off-the charts allergies and like her momma, she is very food motivated. She even has her own IG account (siena_with_love).
Well now, look how that turned out – seven things you may not know about me on the seventh month of the year. That feels rather satisfying.
What about you? What don’t I know about you? Are there any connective dots with what I shared? I'd love to hear - because honestly it's these connections that make the world turn and my heart happy.

I'll leave it here for now, but I hope something in here sparked a smile, a memory, or small moment of connection. I'm always grateful for this space we share and the stories we get to exchange, even in little fragments like this. If anything I shared today resonated with you, or you're willing to share more about yourself reach out, I'd love to know you even better. 🤗
Cheers to levity,
