Live Coaching Kathleen 3 (of 6): Facing Your Limiting Beliefs
For a long stretch of my life I could believe things were possible for other people to the moon and back but I just couldn't believe them for myself. When this predicament came up in this week's live coaching session with Kathleen on The Unlock Lab podcast it was all I could do to not reach across the screen and give her a big hug. What we’re talking about here is the difference between enthusiasm and optimism. Enthusiasm is possible by being genuinely excited about something, while optimism means you can believe that the future you want is possible for you to reach.
Kathleen not only faces her own limiting beliefs in this session, but she comes toe to toe with her resistance to finding her way through to the other side. That other side being the belief that ALL of her dreams ARE entirely possible.
Staying the course in the most difficult moments is what’s required to get unstuck, and this is exactly what Kathleen did in this session. You can almost feel the building of the walls, and then feel them come crashing down as she finds her way to celebrate all the wins she’s been accumulating despite the difficult emotions of it all. It was a beautiful moment where she could see that it was time to drink her own medicine, as she admits that she’s able to encourage others to celebrate their wins, but much harder to do for herself.
